Why pool tile falls off - have you ever wondered why your pool tiles fall off in the first place? This is pretty interesting; remember when your pool tile was first installed how incredibly fast the process was, One man was spreading the tile adhesive and the other was setting the tile behind him, the problem is when the man spreading the adhesive gets to far ahead of the tile setter the adhesive dries out a little to much and when the pool tile is set it never really bonds as well as it should next the pool tile is grouted the truth is the grout is the only thing holding the tile in place.

All you have to do to prove this is take a look at the back of one of the tiles that have fallen off and it’s clear there is no adhesive on the back of the tile. One little earthquake breaks the weak bond and tiles fall off.

How to replace pool tile - The first step is tap the tiles around the ones that have fallen off if you hear a hollow sound take those tiles off as well. Next and extremely important scrape all the old adhesive off the wall the better this is done the better the tiles will line up. (We use a mini jack hammer). That shaves the wall perfectly.

Next spread the adhesive and set the tiles making sure the pool tiles are flat and even with existing pool tile. Then grout, And now you have a perfect patch.
